Cornetist Rob Mazurek is currently on tour in the US with two bands: São Paulo Underground—his trio with keyboardist Guilherme Granado and percussionist Mauricio Takara—and Black Cube SP. The latter group is SPU plus Thomas Rohrer on soprano sax and rabeca (a kind of Brazilian viola). They’re playing shows in support of SPU’s 2013 release Beija Flors Velho E Sujo and BCSP’s 2014 debut, Return the Tides: Ascension Suite and Holy Ghost.

We’ve got two videos from their April 11 performance at New York’s Jazz Gallery; the first is by São Paulo Underground, the second by Black Cube SP.
